WFN has started work related to the Water Meter Project, a year-long initiative to help ensure the long-term availability of water for consumers and all other aspects of the community directly affected by water usage.
WFN has identified over 700 water meters that do not function as intended and need to be replaced. These residents are being contacted by Wiener's Plumbing and Drain Cleaning to schedule the replacement at no-cost to the resident. Representatives from Wiener's Plumbing and Drain Cleaning will be driving marked vehicles and will be wearing WFN official I.D. badges.
Replacing water meters is one step of many as WFN moves towards a consumption-based billing structure beginning in 2027. Full project details, including key phases, are outlined below.

Water Meter Project Outline
Phase I - Meter Purchase
WFN has identified over 700 water meters that need to be replaced. 800 meters have been purchased by WFN to be installed at no-cost to the customer or resident.
Phase II - Meter Installation (April 2026 - August 2026)
Meter installation will be completed by third-party contractor, Wiener's Plumbing and Drain Cleaning. Appointment scheduling is now underway and should be completed by the end of August 2026.
*Please note, Wiener's Plumbing and Drain Cleaning will only be sending notices to residents scheduled for a replacement at this time. If a resident has not heard from the plumbers, their meter is not currently slated for replacement.
Phase III - New Rate Structure (2027)
In order to provide services at the most economical rates and with water conservation in mind, WFN will be moving towards a new rate structure of consumption-based billing in 2027.
Prior to the change in structure, customers will receive a mock-bill with their expected utilities invoice in late 2026 to help residents understand and prepare for any changes.
Residents are invited and encouraged to attend the upcoming Community Information Session to learn more and ask any questions they may have.
