Westbank First Nation Council has approved a resolution to lift the temporary hold that has been in place on new Stage 2 development approvals within the IR9 water service area, following completion of technical review and internal coordination. This follows earlier precautionary measures taken to manage peak demand pressures and maintain system performance while assessments were underway.

With this decision, development can move forward in a measured way that supports housing and economic growth, while continuing to safeguard long-term community interests.

Westbank First Nation continues to invest in critical infrastructure, including recent upgrades to the IR9 pump system. In parallel, the Water Master Plan currently underway will guide both short- and long-term improvements needed to support future growth.
